Give from the heart and change lives

One of the kids from Bagong Silang reading the letter of the kid who prepared the shoe box he just received

What a great joy when someone have prepared gifts for you from the other side of the world!

As summer starts in the Philippines, several churches had a chance to minister to kids through giving of Samaritan's Purse's Shoe Boxes. One of those churches was Lumban Mennonite Bible Church from Lumban, Laguna. Around 200 kids from their area had a chance to receive their shoe boxes last April 2, 2016 at Maytalang and Bagong Silang, and last April 3, 2016 at Lumban Mennonite Bible Church.

Shoe boxes includes toys, school supplies, candies, and clothes gathered through Samaritan's Purse. It was indeed a great day for the kids who received their gifts! It was also a great time to spread the love of Christ for the little children. Volunteers from Lumban Mennonite Bible Church also grabbed the chance to minister to these kids. They had evangelism activity where the kids was taught with the meaning of what Christ did for them at the cross, the also had singing of worship songs, and evangelism with the parents.

When they received their shoe boxes, the kids was asked to pray for whatever they wish to have from their shoe boxes. Indeed, God answers genuine prayers! It's amazing to know that few kids received the things they prayed for. Most of the answered prayers were school supplies, toys, and some specific thing like for Kyle Andrei Rana, a four-year old kid. He received a character stuff toy of Boots from Dora and immediately thank God that he received what he was praying for! Some other kids were Nadine Aquino, Charles Andrew Genevova, John Ashley Flores, Josh Ranque, and Jheriel Aquino who prayed to received toys and Khevin Valderamos who prayed to received school supplies.

Thank you Samaritan's Purse for this wonderful opportunity! We believe that through those shoe boxes, their lives was changed and their hearts was touched by Christ. We are graced, indeed!
